University of Colorado Denver Powerlifting Shines at Kilomonster
A 1st place finish helps lift an impressive performance at Kilomonster
The University of Colorado Denver Powerlifting Team delivered an impressive showing at the “Legend of the Kilomonster” meet held November 8 and 9, 2025. The event brought together lifters across multiple age and weight classes, and CU Denver athletes rose to the challenge with several standout performances. Competing in the Junior (20-23) division at 70 kilograms, Trinity Bliss, who placed 1st in the Raw Women’s Junior 70kg class, recorded a total of 370 kg, highlighted by a 142.5 kg squat, a 72.5 kg bench press, and a 155 kg deadlift. Her consistency across all three lifts demonstrated her disciplined preparation and competition focus.
In the Teen III (18-19) division at 75 kg, Manuel Zamora secured one of the team's top totals with 542.5 kg. His performance included a 202.5 kg squat, a 122.5 kg bench, and a 217.5 kg deadlift, showcasing balanced strength across all lifts.
Clemente Martinez Lopez, also competing in the Teen III 75 kg class, added a strong result for CU Denver. He finished with a 450 kg total built from a 152.5 kg squat, a 97.5 kg bench, and a 200 kg deadlift.
The team's performance proves the momentum of powerlifting at CU Denver is real and highlight the talent on the team. The team hopes to have more participation in more meets this year. We cannot wait to share more about this great program.
